Showing how the handwork on the interior construction of a traditionally tailored men’s or women’s jacket is done. - Philip Sawyer
Free with museum admission.
Philip Sawyer began sewing seriously in college, out of frustration with what was in the stores, and the sudden realization that clothing is wearable sculpture. He was able to transfer his design, drafting and model-making skills over to tailoring and clothing design, and has been blessed with great mentors over the years. Some of his greatest satisfaction comes from seeing a pleased customer in one of his garments, who not only looks good, but is comfortable and feels more like themselves. And who also knows their garment will be enjoyable for a generation - or even two.
