Dawn Oliveira on Design-Print-Sew/Green Textiles for Home & Apparel. I will present an overview and CAD demonstration of the fabric design process using Photoshop/Illustrator to create artwork…moving on to first fabric sample, and then on to production yardage. — Dawn Oliveira
Free with museum admission.
Ten years ago Dawn Oliveira was running a successful textile studio in the heart of Manhattan’s Garment District, designing printed fabrics for clients such as Polo Ralph Lauren and Liz Claiborne, when illnesses in her family drew her back to her native state of Rhode Island. Armed with 20 years of experience in the industry and motivated by the desire to create more healthful surroundings for all, she founded Oliveira textiles, which produces contemporary printed fabrics using only sustainable materials and low-impact production techniques.
