Loose threads unknotted. Ideas unrealized. Outlines left bare. Function unperformed. The essays, images, and projects presented in the fifth issue of Manual attend to the fluid potential of objects that are in some way incomplete.
Providence-based composer J. P. A. Falzone’s arrangement of his instrumental works for a quintet of keyboard, vibraphone, and strings. Elaborating simple mathematical structures, his music draws inspiration from Buckminster Fuller’s Six Part Push Pull Tensegrity.
The celebrated poet C.D. Wright died unexpectedly on January 12, 2016. The RISD Museum joins Brown University and the Providence community in mourning the loss of her sharp wit and generous spirit.
