Press Image Use and Photography & Filming in the RISD Museum
How can I reproduce works from the RISD Museum’s collection for press publication?
High-resolution images from the RISD Museum’s exhibitions, programs and events, and news announcements are available via the links at right or by contacting the Press Office.
These images are available for non-commercial editorial press usage in conjunction with the Museum’s exhibitions, activities, and programs. Image captions and credits, when provided, must be used.
If you need to reproduce works from the RISD Museum collection for other purposes, please visit the Rights & Reproduction page.
Can I shoot press photographs or film in the RISD Museum?
All photography and filming requests by members of the press must be approved by, and scheduled with, the RISD Museum Press Office.
Priority is given to news coverage that focuses on the RISD Museum, its exhibitions and programs, and its collection. (Read the Museum’s media guidelines in full.)
Kindly give the RISD Museum Press Office at least 10 business days to approve and schedule your request. We will send you a press photography and film contract and arrange for a Museum staff member to escort you during your shoot. For more information, or to schedule a shoot, please email the Press Office.
Please let us know if your photography or film crew is comprised of more than two people, or if you plan to use additional lights or equipment.
For the RISD Museum’s policies on photography and filming for purposes other than press, please visit the Rights & Reproduction page.
