Press Image Use and Photography & Filming in the RISD Museum
How can I reproduce works from the RISD Museum’s collection for press publication?
Journalists and editors can download high-resolution press images from the online Press Office, or request images via the button at right.
Press images are available for non-commercial editorial press usage in conjunction with the Museum’s exhibitions, activities, and programs. Images cannot be altered. Image captions and credits, when provided, must be used.
If you wish to reproduce works from the RISD Museum collection for purposes other than press, please visit the Rights & Reproduction page.
Can I shoot press photographs or film in the RISD Museum?
All photography and filming requests by members of the press must be approved by, and scheduled with, the RISD Museum Press Office.
Priority is given to news and feature coverage that focuses on the RISD Museum, its exhibitions and programs, and its collection. (Read the Museum’s media guidelines in full.)
Kindly give the RISD Museum Press Office at least 10 business days to approve and schedule your request. We will send you a press photography and film contract and arrange for a Museum staff member to escort you during your shoot. For more information, or to schedule a shoot, please email the Press Office.
Please let us know if your photography or film crew is comprised of more than two people, or if you wish to bring additional lights or equipment.
For the RISD Museum’s policies on photography and filming for purposes other than press, please visit the Rights & Reproduction page.
