Untitled (Grey Plank) was made using materials and techniques similar to those used to manufacture surfboards. The simple geometric form and its extension into our physical space evoke architectural structures, while the polished surface engages light and texture. These qualities are exaggerated by the work’s blurred distinctions between an industrially manufactured sensibility and the craft and care provided by the artist’s hand.
