Faculty Forum: Mellon Teaching Fellows on Cross-institutional Research and Teaching

May 3, 2017, 12 – 1 pm
Danforth Hall

Join the 2016-17 Mellon Teaching fellows for brief overviews and discussion of their fellowship projects. The Mellon Teaching Fellowship is part of Assemblages, a collaborative project of the RISD Museum and the Haffenreffer Museum of Anthropology, that focuses on the evolving field of object-based teaching and research.

Masha Ryskin, Assistant Professor, Division of Experimental and Foundation Studies at RISD, connects Peruvian textiles in the Haffenreffer’s collection to her first-year design and drawing studio classes. Jeffrey Moser, assistant professor of history of art and architecture at Brown University, has conducted research on the RISD Museum’s collection of pre-modern Chinese paintings, which he has integrated into the curriculum of an undergraduate seminar course and supplementary videos.

Light refreshments served. Free with Museum admission.
