Rescheduled from Wednesday March 21st.

Dr. Suzanne Scanlan, Lecturer in RISD’s History of Art and Visual Culture Department, shares her research on early female graduates of the Rhode Island School of Design and their connections to the art, manufacturing and social landscapes of turn-of-the-century Providence. Scanlan examines their work in light of progressive movements of the early 20th century, and in relation to feminist initiatives by successive and current Providence-based practitioners.
