CANCELED: Summer Institute for Educators
About
Program runs for four days: July 9, 10, 11 and 12 from 10-4pm.
Connect to multi-layered stories and histories in both local and distant places to stimulate your teaching and your students’ learning. This institute provides opportunities for place-based learning using artistic representations, objects, mapping, writing, and oral histories. We will focus on local histories including ones related to Mashapaug Pond and the Gorham Manufacturing Company.
Designed for K-12 educators teaching different subjects, this institute shares tools and approaches for engaging with specific places and exploring ideas about place within your curriculum. The Summer Institute is led by RISD Museum educators and guest facilitators.
Cost of workshop is $175 ($80 for current students) with lunch provided.
