Screenings Fall 2014
This new exhibition program features film and video screenings by contemporary artists working between the gallery space and the cinema. Each screening includes artist or guest lecturer insights on the works presented.

The Republic and Stray Light

Blue

Definitive experimental work comprising a single shot of saturated blue color and a narrated soundtrack suggesting filmmaker Derek Jarman’s fading eyesight and the mental, physical, and emotional strain caused by the AIDS-related complications that ended his life in 1994. Discussion follows with Jacques Khalip, Brown University Associate Professor of English and Modern Culture and Media. (1993, 79 min. Adult content, may not be appropriate for all audiences.)

1395 Days Without Red

Šejla Kamerić’s visually provocative reenactment of a journey through war-torn city streets examines the lingering effects from the siege of Sarajevo in the early 1990s.
