Gabrielle Walker, Nancy Elizabeth Prophet Curatorial Assistant will lead a gallery talk of Nancy Elizabeth Prophet: I Will Not Bend an Inch, the first survey of this underrecognized modernist sculptor. The talk will focus on the development and execution of the exhibition, including the research and collaborative community partners that were crucial in its realization. Prophet is best known for her figurative sculptures carved in wood and stone, and. is RISD’s first documented graduate of color after completing her degree in 1918.
