Both historically and today, visual artists have created works that address conditions of power, contributing to conversations about modes of resistance and political engagement. In collaboration with For Freedoms, a civic-minded artist-run organization, the RISD Museum invites the public to a town hall conversation considering the role of art and activism in preparing for the midterm elections with interdisciplinary artist, Becci Davis, artist and activist, Tasha Dougé, artist and Director of Public Policy and Advocacy at the Institute for the Study and Practice of Nonviolence, Jordan Seaberry, and photographer and co-founder of For Freedoms, Eric Gottesman.
Recorded on 10.25.18, presented in conjunction with the exhibition Former Glory, on view at the RISD Museum through 1.20.19.
