Viewpoints: Contemporary Mapping and Global Histories

Join Tayana Fincher, Nancy Prophet Fellow in Costume and Textiles, Carson Evans (RISD MFA GD '18), Digital Media Fellow, and Conor Moynihan, Andrew W. Mellon Curatorial Fellow in Prints, Drawings, and Photographs, to discuss the nuances and implications of mapping as it is represented in the RISD Museum. Joined by Alan Verskin, Associate Professor of History at the University of Rhode Island, they will have a moderated conversation about an in-house digital media project in collaboration with Fincher's upcoming exhibition, It Comes in Many Forms: Islamic Art from the Collection, and a contemporary work on paper currently on view.

Virtual program, recorded 9.23.20
