In conjunction with Being and
Believing in the Natural World, artist
Minjung Kim will share her philosophical approach and techniques used to create
intricate, abstract ink paintings on Hanji (mulberry bark) paper. During the
first part of the program, Kim will give an overview of her creative process
and influences. Then, Kim will demonstrate her methods with brush, ink, water,
burning (fire), and Hanji paper. Kim’s painting Mountain is a
recent museum acquisition and now on view.
