Alex Da Corte talks with RISD assistant professor in the Textile Department Mary Anne Friel about collaborative processes. A central aspect of Da Corte’s work, collaboration can fuel and expand creative exploration and production.
Alex Da Corte received his BFA from the University of the Arts, Philadelphia, and his MFA from the Yale University. His first survey exhibition Free Roses was held at MASS MoCA in 2016, and he has shown at Maccarone Gallery in New York, the Hammer Museum in Los Angeles, Gio Marconi in Italy, the Whitney Museum (2014, together with Jayson Musson), and the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art in Denmark. In 2012, Da Corte was awarded a Pew Fellowship in the Arts from the Pew Center for Arts & Heritage. Images of his work can be found on his website http://alexdacorte.com.
