Jori Ketten is a founder and curator of 186 Carpenter, a storefront and office space that presents arts programming and current events. A printmaker and bass drum player in the 20+ person brass/punk band the What Cheer? Brigade, she also currently directs the Media Lab at Community MusicWorks, helps young people reflect on their learning through photography and video projects, and cocoordinates Providence Provision, the Providence HONK Festival, and workers' rights campaign JoeyQuits.com.
Laura Cetilia is a cellist comfortable with both acoustic and electronic performance and improvisation, developing extended techniques and technologies that best convey her artistic intentions. Her work manifests itself in many forms. Apart from her solo projects, she is half of the electroacoustic group Mem1, member of the avant garde viola/cello duo Suna No Onna, and collaborator with a number of visual artists. Laura has traveled extensively, performing with Mem1 at venues such as Issue Project Room, Roulette (NY), REDCAT (LA), Electronic Church (Berlin), the Laptopia Festival (Tel-Aviv), the San Francisco Electronic Music Festival, and the Borealis Festival (Bergen). Mem1 has also taken part in artist residencies at Harvestworks (NY), STEIM and Kunstenaarslogies in the Netherlands, USF Verftet in Bergen, Norway and SoundFjord in London. In 2011 Laura participated in an artist residency, focusing on her solo work, at Atlantic Center for the Arts with master artist, David Behrman.Laura is co-curator of the experimental music series CTRL+ALT+REPEAT and the Estuary Ltd. record label. She is currently a member of Eastern Connecticut and New Bedford symphonies, adjunct faculty at Salve Regina University and Resident Musician at Community MusicWorks.
Born & grew up in Japan, Sakiko came to the US in 2000 to attend music school. She moved to Providence in 2005 and since then she has been actively performing, recording and collaborating with musicians in town. She curates an Annual Experimental Music Concert series and "Bach to the Future"(all night J.S.Bach marathon concert) through Community MusicWorks.
