About
A coconut shell with gilt-silver mountings creates a beaker in the form of an owl. Consider its meanings and fabrication with Barbara Seidenath, senior critic in RISD's Jewelry and Metalsmithing Department and Tara Nummedal, associate professor of history and Italian studies at Brown University. Double Takes invite specialists to offer views on objects with a focus on artists and the social context and artistic interpretation.
Free.
Double Takes are supported, in part, by a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts. This program is part of the Pell Humanities initiative in Rhode Island to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the National Endowment for the Humanities.
