Faculty Workshop
About
Join Sage Gerson, assistant professor of literary arts and studies and current museum faculty fellow, and Conor Moynihan, Associate Curator, Prints, Drawings, and Photographs, for a workshop specifically designed for faculty teaching in the liberal arts. Grounded in pedagogical theory, the workshop will share concrete examples and practical strategies for teaching with visual art objects and give participants the opportunity to brainstorm applications to future courses. The workshop aims to make accessible the depth and breadth of the museum’s collection of works on paper to an interdisciplinary group of faculty participants working across the liberal arts disciplines, including literary studies, cultural studies, history, philosophy, environmental studies, and other branches of humanities and social sciences. Those who want to teach with the museum’s collections but may not feel there is an intuitive connection between them and their subject matter and/or teaching methods are especially welcome! Co-sponsored by the SEI Teaching and Learning Lab. Free; registration requested. Meeting Location: Chace Center, 20 N. Main Street
