Screening videos by Peter Glantz featuring Andrew W.K., Wilco, Becky Stark, John C. Reilly and new cartoons for MTV's Liquid Television. Following by a Q&A session.
Free with museum admission. Peter Glantz, known for music videos and stage direction for bands including OK Go, Wilco, Andrew W.K., and Lightning Bolt, is considered a cult hero for directing otherworldly performances in abandoned buildings, forests, and basements in Providence and beyond. His Wilco music video was named in the top 10 of 2012 by Paste Magazine while being praised in Rolling Stone, Boing Boing, and NPR's Bob Boilen on All Songs Considered. Eight episodes of his cartoon series Worldword (created with Becky Stark) will be featured on MT V's 2013 relaunch of Liquid Television. Peter is now emerging from the shadows with his "Ways Of Being" series of solo performances. T he first, Being Impossible, started in an unused warehouse in Providence and finished at the Hirshhorn Museum where Smithsonian Magazine writes he "took the crowd on a magical journey." He is also a fermenter who frequently teaches people how to make sauerkraut and pickles. He lives with his wife, artist Meredith Stern, and cats Jello and Gandalf.
