This month's schedule:
5:30-8:30 pm: Artist's Lab with Walker Mettling
Stop by this all-ages drawing zone to join a collaborative mural, go on a gallery hunt, and reveal creatures on Walker's Blob Revelation Cubes.
5:30-8:30 pm: Walker'n'Friends Night Market
Brand-new freaky prints, sick apparel, huge comics, lunar clocks, insane drawing games for kids and everybody, tiny comics, live screen printing and more. Bring a blank t-shirt!
Featuring: Caitlin Cali, Unknown Tito, Alphabets, Amanda Soule, ParisParisParis!, Mimi Chrzanowski, Ryan Alves, Dailen Williams, Lara Henderson, Keegan Creatures, and Walker Mettling.
5:30-8:30 pm: Hands-on Art
Create your own design inspired by patterns, growth, and motion in nature.
5:30-7 pm: Student Performance: Chantal Feitosa (FAV 2018)
This performance takes the form of a gallery-based discussion on Charles Cordier's "African Venus", addressing the struggle of attaining visibility for marginalized bodies in elite creative spaces.
5:30-8:30 pm: Work in Process
Learn about the processes and techniques students use to create art and maintain a studio practice.
5:30-7:30 pm: Jorge Palacios (Brown-RISD Dual Degree 2020)
Jorge studies glass at RISD and astrophysics at Brown, and is interested in new tools, shapes, and projections. His work deals with visions and images of stars, the past, and the future.
6:30-8:30 pm: Tia Blais-Billie (Illustration 2018)
Tia's work encompasses friendship, identity, and the supernatural.
6 pm and 7 pm: Ways of Looking
Look closely at a selected work in these guided introductory sessions.
6:30-8:30 pm: Performance: Benjamin Lundberg Torres Sánchez
Lundberg Torres Sánchez salivates into a closed container, drawing relationships between policing, legal statutes, and museum rules governing "Wet Materials" as (bodily) methods of control.
7-8:30 pm: Community MusicWorks Sonata Series
This evening features musicians Sebastian Ruth, David Rubin, and guest pianist Eliko Akahori performing Bach and Copland.
