Art & Design Lab for High School Students
About
These free classes for high school students explore how art and design provoke fresh ideas, elicit conversation, and stimulate creativity. Each monthly session focuses on specific themes and techniques and is led by Artist-Educators. Studio opens at 3:30pm, class starts at 4pm. Classes are free but pre-registration is required; space is limited.
September Session: UnFashionWhat are the intersections of everyday apparel and outrageous costume? What do our personal styles and methods of adornment express about ourselves and the world around us? Explore diverse fashion statements and costumes from across time and cultures and take an up-close look at textiles for inspiration. Experiment with paper, thread, fabric, sewing and weaving techniques to design new, wearable expressions that explore the ordinary and outlandish. Class dates: 9/4, 9/11, 9/18, 9/25
