Talk It Out
About
What key curatorial choices are made in the development of an exhibition? Join and question Tayana Fincher, Nancy Prophet Fellow in the Costume & Textiles Department, as she shares her creative process for the upcoming exhibition, It Comes in Many Forms: Islamic Art from the Collection. Through discussion on her research, as well as digital and physical renderings of the exhibition model, we will also trace developments in art by makers connected to Islam. Explore themes of intercultural dialogue through conversation about a late 16th-century Iranian manuscript painting, an 18th-century Sudanese textile, and a contemporary American photograph from the early ‘90s.
