Zimbabwean-born artist Kudzanai Chiurai investigates issues facing the African continent today through video. Dr. Leora Maltz-Leca, associate professor of contemporary art in RISD's History of Art and Visual Culture department delves into political, cultural, and art historical references with Dr. Anthony Bogues, Asa Messer Professor of Humanities and Critical Theory and director of the Center for the Study of Slavery and Justice at Brown University.
Double Takes invite specialists to offer views on objects with a focus on artists and the social context and artistic interpretation.
