Jazzmen Lee-Johnson a M.A. candidate in Public Humanities 2015 at Brown University and a Public History of Slavery Fellow, served as a fellow in the Department of Costume and Textiles at the Museum of Art, Rhode Island School of Design for the Spring 2015 semester. Lee-Johnson participated in a variety of curatorial projects including selecting and researching a group of African wax-print textiles to be displayed in the Donghia Study Center, a teaching gallery in the Museum. Lee-Johnson also carried out provenance research on the collection objects and investigated the textile processes used to create the works. Lee-Johnson's curatorial work also includes A Peculiar Aesthetic - Representations and Images of Slavery at the Center for the Study of Slavery and Justice at Brown University and Kicks and Accessories, 2013.
