Join artist Annu Palakunnathu Matthew on the occasion of her recently released publication, The Answers Take Time (Minor Matters Books and sepiaEYE 2022). Informed by Matthew’s perspective as a global citizen, the book is a journey through geographies and time, influenced by the irrefutable narratives of population displacement, and the imperfection of memories.
Matthew will speak with Dr. Francine Weiss, Director of Curatorial Affairs & Chief Curator at the Newport Art Museum, about Matthew’s conceptual, installation-driven work using photography, collage, digital animation, parody, and ephemera, which she uses to explore both the performative and deeply personal elements of cultural identities.
Books available to be purchased ($50 each) and signed after the discussion.
