The Collection Management Policy reflects the shared values, vision, standards, and expectations of RISD Trustees, Governors, Fine Arts Committee (“FAC”), employees, and volunteers regarding the development, preservation, documentation, interpretation, and exhibition of the Museum's collection. It articulates the Museum’s collecting objectives and activities and the level of care required for objects entrusted to it. Its objective is to provide the policies which inform and direct those responsible for the collection. The policy is reviewed by the museum every five years and was last approved by the Board of Governors on October 19, 2022. Questions regarding the policy may be directed to curatorial@risd.edu.
