Exhibition History

Being and Believing in the Natural World
Perspectives from the Ancient Mediterranean, Asia, and Indigenous North America

Label copy

Elephant figurines made from different materials roam across Yutaka Sone’s mixed-media interpretation of an African landscape. Drawing from his own immersions in nature, Sone constructs pieces that invite contemplation. Pebbles and stones complement this fabricated landscape, raising questions about the built world versus the natural word and what is “real.”
