In Breakers III, a canvas stained and saturated with ink is suspended between two panes of glass roughly painted with uniform horizontal lines. These abstract elements suggest landscapes or seascapes, details from architectural structures or—given the title—interrupted communication patterns. Moyer's activation of various materials, surfaces, and techniques reflects her interest in combining the sensibilities of painting and sculpture.
