Inscription verso, bottom left: #50/in a later hand: Shunman 1- Stamped in red ink, verso bottom left:[Japanese Characters][text and poems] Poems by Rokujien (n.b. not the famous poet Rokujuen) Tariyo + Sanshotei Yuzuru The first poem mentions "fukujuso,"the Adonis vernalis (spring pheasant's eye) composed of three Chinese characters, the first two auspicious characters meaning "good fortune" and "longevity."
