[text and poems] Kashu (poetical works) [the formal name for Teika's self-selected anthology is Shuiguso] Teika [Fujiwara no Teika, poet] Poem: Tetsukuriya sarasu (translates to)Cloth hung to bleach over a fencekakineno asatsuyuni(translates to)saturated with morning dewdrops tsuranukitomenu(translates to)like scattered jewels Tamagawa no sato (translates to)in the village of TamagawaTetsukuriya means not only the place (Tetsukuri is an alternate reading for Chofu) but the cloth they are preparing. Tama in tamagawa means "jewel" and the dewdrops here are likened to jewels.
