Glazed on the exterior in red and embellished with gilded floral designs that resemble textile patterns, this covered bowl combines Chinese craftsmanship with Thai aesthetics. Known as lai nam thong (gold-washed wares), these ceramics were custom-made for the Thai market by Chinese porcelain makers.
