[text and poems] Poem: Hito koe ni/futatsu no kuni ya/hototogisu The cry of the nightingale, extending over two provincesThe first cry of the nightingale comes in the night and signals that summer has come. Another poem on a print in the collection (Kobayashi pl. 52/34.311) mentions the two provinces over which the bird's powerful cry extends: Musashi and Shimosa.
