And thus it is that silver -- / whether it be a tea service, a spoon, a pitcher, a cigarette case, or what / not from the field of choice -- has come to stand as the useful, en / during token of those tenderest thoughts which Christmas symbolizes. / GORHAM SILVERWARE / The Mark of Distinction / [Gorham marks] / STERLING".
