Marks: In the upper left corner (extending toward upper center) on the verso side of the strainer are a series of marks written on a piece of ripped paper tape.On the tape written in blue pencil are four illegible numbers or letters; next to this series of numbers/letters is a second series of numbers, "1...[followed by four more illegible numbers]". In the upper right corner of the strainer written in pencil is an illegible vertical mark followed by a "9" and possibly a "5".In the lower center of the strainer is the lower portion of what appears to be a stamped number, possibly the bottom loop of a nine, three or five. In the upper left corner of the carboard backing board in red ink is the number "189.42" where the numbers 9 and 4 are questionable.This number is scratched out in red ink. Below the scratched out number in red ink is the RISD accession number "42.220".Still in the upper left corner of the backing below the RISD number, in pencil written in lower case cursive is "CA [illegible letter] TA...". In pencil below the cursive letters is written "189.42". In the upper center written in blue pencil are a series or illegible numbers of letters, which possibly correspond to the illegible series of numbers or letters on the strainer (located directly above this series but slightly off).In the upper center, written in red marker on the backing board is the RISD accession number "42.220" Below this RISD number (located center, center) written in blue pencil is the underlined number "16827".Written below the underlined number written in blue pen and underlined is the accession number "42.220".In the upper right corner of the backing board in cursive pencil is "RI School" below which is an illegible word underlined.

Label: In the lower right corner of the verso frame there is a yellowish label.On the left center of the label in pen is the RISD accession number "42.220."To the right of the accession number in ink is written in cusive "no. 6" and is underlined once.At the bottom of the label in pencil is the number "1200" In the lower right corner of the verso frame is a small rectangular label with beveled corners.Typed on this label is "MUSEUM / RISD / 1 [illegible number, possibly an 8] 9.42".In the bottom center of the verso fram is a remnant of a label with the letters "R [then half an H].../PR..."In the center right, a rectangular label bridges (is attached to) the strainer and the cardboard backing. Written on this label is "MUSEUM OF ART / RHODE ISLAND SCHOOL FO DESIGN / PROVIDENCE RHODE ISLAND/ LOAN". On the center left of the cardboard backing is a new RISD Museum label with a red border.
