This youthful and idealized statuette was made for the deceased's ka-spirit and would have been put within or beside the coffin. The tomb of a well-to-do person commonly contained more than one ka-statue. These often represent him or her at different stages of life. The white kilt indicates his "white-collar" status.

Due to the scarcity of large timber in Egypt, this statuette was created in small scale and in separate parts. The separately fashioned arms are joined to the body by mortise and tenon.
