Label copy

This print was distributed by the Osaka poet Oe no Kitayori on the occasion of a memorial service commemorating the anniversary of his father’s death. The authors of the poems, including the leader of the “crane” poetry group, Tsurunoya, and the block cutter, Tani Seiko, had all experienced personal losses around the time that this print was made.
