[text and poems] Tachi yori ya (translates to) The kingfisher stopped by hisui wa tobite (translates to) then flew away- nio no koe (translates to) far away the call of a grebeKingfisher, hisui or kawasemi in Japanese, is a season word (kigo) of summer. Grebe, nio or kaitsuburi, is a kigo of winter. In the poem winter is far away.
