Poem signed Ô or Okina (meaning Matsuo Bashô [1644-1694])

This is the first poem of a linked-poem occasion held in the fifth month of Genroku 7 at the home of Koson, a pupil of Matsuo Bashô (1644-1694). The poets are presumably looking at a hydrangea bush in a small unkempt garden attached to the main portion of the house.

Signature: Shigenobu hitsu
