This fabric sculpture is a scale replica of the front doorknob to the residence Suh occupied while he studied at RISD from 1991 to 1994. The artist often uses sheer polyester to create ghostly evocations of important places in his life. Suh’s sculptures are concerned with the impact of place on memories that are simultaneously present and absent.
