Exhibition History

With the Daniells in Asia
Mar 21, 1986 – May 18, 1986

Label copy

The Daniells searched Muscat, on the northeastern coast of the Arabian peninsula, on June 4, 1793 and had hoped to continue on home through the Middle East. War had broken out between France and England in February, however, and this made the overland route impasable, so the Daniells were forced to sail back to Bombay. From there they retraced their outward trip and sailed back to England via China.
