Tradition and Innovation in American Watercolors

John La Farge worked in the watercolor medium from a very young age. From the late 1850s to the end of the 1870s, La Farge lived and worked between Newport and Boston, designing and executing murals and stained-glass windows for churches and public buildings throughout the region.
