About
Intense color defines the bold patterns of these bathing suits designed by Sonia Delaunay, as well as the abstract background she staged them against. Her multidisciplinary practice, which included painting and especially fashion and textile design, embraced the dynamism of contrasting colors—a strategy perfectly suited for the daring clothing and fabric designs she created for the adventurous modern woman. She lived by the phrase “Color is the skin of the world.”
