The gifts or votive offerings made to gods in their temples and shrines could include plaster or limestone heads of kings. This figure's slight smile, full cheeks, and wide eyes date him to the Ptolemaic period, while his headdress identifies him as a king. Traces of pigment remain under the chin and on the left side of the headdress, beneath the ear.
