Label: On the back, outer frame at lower right, there is a triangular wooden piece with a square piece of tape that has been painted over (although there is some exposure of red beneath); this could have been a label. On the back, inner frame on the center of the left side, it looks like there might have been a label or piece torn off and the glue from that remains. In the lower left corner of the strainer, a piece of tape appears to have been ripped off, and some glue remains.

Marks: On the back of the painting, there are a number of marks on the strainer. In the upper left but to the right of the corner, there is a pencil measurement, "8 ¼ x 6 1/[something illegible]."To the right of this in pencil "12..." and illegible marks appear, over which has has been written the accession number in red.Below this are four pencil marks and possibly an "S" or a "5" followed by three "X"s.In the upper right corner there are two diagonal marks in coral/orange chalk and directly below these two marks is the number "521."In the lower left corner, there are illegible pencil marks.
