The Arts Intern program provides exciting opportunities for college undergraduates to learn about nonprofit professions through internships at museums and other cultural institutions. The program seeks candidates with demonstrated financial need and encourages applicants from diverse cultural backgrounds. Each intern works closely with a staff mentor on a project relevant to their areas of interest. In addition, Arts Interns participate as a group in program assignments and visits with regional museum and arts professionals.
Applicants must be enrolled as full-time juniors or seniors in Spring 2023. They must attend college or live in Providence County. Lastly, they must have an Expected Family Contribution of less than $5000 (as listed on the student’s FAFSA form). International students are not eligible for this program.
The Graphic Design Intern at the RISD Museum will learn how to design experiential graphics from concept to delivery of files for production. They will be introduced to the systems, tools, and processes the RISD Museum uses and will practice everyday workflow, management, and design strategies. Successful applicants will have a strong understanding of typography and graphic design fundamentals and proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
