Artist Development
About
"Develop the skills needed to support and sustain your studio practice. Specially designed for local, practicing artists, this unique series of facilitated workshops with experts in the field will help enrich and hone a creative career path through practical guidance and individualized attention.
In a world in which images and ideas circulate at the speed of memes, protecting artwork and ideas can be daunting. Understanding fiscal management and reporting is no less intimidating in the often-complex financial landscape of an artist's income and business. In this development workshop, Steven McDonald, general counsel at RISD, offers useful and practical advice for artists about copyright and contract law. Certified public accountant Richard Streitfeld provides general guidelines for financial management and addresses questions. Gain a strong understanding of the legal and financial issues that pertain to individual creative practices.
Fee: $15, members: $5. Register for one or more. Registration required.
