Born and raised in New York City, Tina Cane serves as the Poet Laureate of Rhode Island where she is the founder and director of Writers-in-the-Schools, RI. Her poems and translations have appeared in numerous publications, including The Literary Review, Spinning Jenny, Tupelo Quarterly, Jubliat, and The Common. She also co-produces, with Atticus Allen, the podcast, Poetry Dose. Cane is the author of The Fifth Thought (Other Painters Press, 2008), Dear Elena: Letters for Elena Ferrante, poems with art by Esther Solondz (Skillman Avenue Press, 2016), Once More With Feeling (Veliz Books, 2017), and Body of Work (Veliz Books, 2019). In 2016, Tina received the Fellowship Merit Award in Poetry, from the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts. She is also a 2020 Poet Laureate Fellow with the Academy of American Poets and the creator/curator of the distance reading series, Poetry is Bread.
Colin Channer’s poems have appeared in the New Yorker, AGNI, Conjunctions and other venues. He received the 2019 Henry Merritt Wriston Fellowship from Brown University, where he teaches in the Department of Literary Arts. He was born in Jamaica, and educated there and in New York. His most recent book is the poetry collection Providential.
Denise Duhamel grew up in Woonsocket, RI. Her most recent book of poetry is Second Story (Pittsburgh, 2021). Other titles include Scald; Blowout (finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award); Ka-Ching!; Two and Two; Queen for a Day: Selected and New Poems; The Star-Spangled Banner; and Kinky. She and Maureen Seaton have co-authored four collections, the most recent of which is CAPRICE (Collaborations: Collected, Uncollected, and New) (Sibling Rivalry Press, 2015). Duhamel and Julie Marie Wade co-authored The Unrhymables: Collaborations in Prose (Noctuary Press, 2019). Duhamel is a recipient of fellowships from the Guggenheim Foundation and the National Endowment for the Arts. She is a Distinguished University Professor in the MFA program at Florida International University in Miami.
Catherine Imbriglio is the author of two books of poetry, Parts of the Mass (Burning Deck), which received the Norma Farber First Book Award from the Poetry Society of America, and Intimacy (Center for Literary Publishing), which received the Colorado Prize in Poetry. Her poetry and criticism have appeared in After Spicer (John Vincent, ed.), American Letters & Commentary, Aufgabe, A Broken Thing: Poets on the Line, Conjunctions, Contemporary Literature, Denver Quarterly, Epoch, New American Writing, No: A Journal of the Arts, Pleiades, West Branch, and elsewhere. A selection of her poetry was anthologized in the Iowa Anthology of New American Poetries, ed. Reginald Shepherd (University of Iowa Press). She is a recipient of an Untermeyer fellowship in poetry, along with a fellowship and two merit awards in poetry from the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts.  She lives in Riverside, RI.
Artists working in a variety of disciplines and mediums share their work in the program series, Assembly. These encounters present creative interpretations, inclusive practices, and sensory experiments in museum spaces.
