Concert
About
Join us for the East Coast premiere of Glass & Blood: concert works from the bloodiest film scores by Philip Glass. This free concert in the RISD Museum's Grand Gallery is an intimate performance of music from one of America's leading composers, and celebrates a magnificent era in the genre of classic cinematic horror.
Violinist Chase Spruill joins Michael Riesman, pianist and longtime director of the Philip Glass Ensemble, in this opportunity to engage and explore never-before-heard concert works from scores housing iconic monsters of film—Candyman, Dracula, and Beast from La Belle et La Bête (Beauty and the Beast), to name a few.
This performance of Glass & Blood is made possible with funding from the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts and through generous collaboration with the Rhode Island School of Design and Community MusicWorks.
