Demo & Discourse
About
Part of Locally Made's One Room.
In Demo & Discourse, artists, designers, and experts from across disciplines and mediums share examples of their work and talk about process.
I'll be showing some process work from how I make my screenprinted posters, and talking about how working by hand is important to living fully in the world — and about how physical materials resist our intentions in ultimately fruitful and generative ways. -Ian Cozzens
Free with museum admission.
Ian Cozzens is a screenprinter, poster-maker, draw-er, teacher, designer... who works mostly non-digitally and who has lived in Providence for almost 15 years. He is sustained by drawing, bike riding, farming, dance parties, pushing towards the difficult core of the conversation, and staying up all night by himself working, printing, & thinking. He really likes having ideas and then making them into reality, with all the messiness, learning, and changes in plans that that involves. He aspires to more multiplicity, more contradiction, and more self-actualization.
