Español en el Museo / Spanish in the Museum Museum Galleries
About
Intended for college faculty and graduate students teaching classes in which the primary language of instruction is Spanish, this workshop will model strategies for teaching with objects of art and design. By implementing object-based pedagogies and inquiry-led conversations based on observation, instructors can offer students an opportunity to develop and practice vocabulary, grammar, and verbal and written language skills. Participants will engage with the museum’s collection of works by artists from Spanish-speaking regions and their cultural and social contexts.
Facilitated by Susana Turbay Botero, an MA student in Public Humanities at Brown University, and Alexandra Poterack, director of academic programs.
