Learning Through Place
About
Program runs for three days: July 7, 8, 9 from 10-3:30pm. Online via zoom.
Connect to multi-layered stories and histories in both local and distant places to stimulate your teaching and your students’ learning. This institute provides opportunities for place-based learning using artistic representations, objects, mapping, writing, and oral histories. We will focus on local histories and places with broader resonances.
Designed for K-12 educators teaching different subjects, this institute shares tools and approaches for engaging with specific places and exploring ideas about place within your curriculum. The Summer Institute is led by RISD Museum educators and guest facilitators.
The RISD Museum is pleased to waive the registration fee thanks to Chase, generous sponsor of the museum's community outreach programs this summer.
